The Fijian Association of Portland/Vancouver in the USA is hosting Fiji Day 2008 in the fair city of Portland, Oregon. It will last 3 days in October 10, 11 and 12, 2008, and will be filled with sports, rugby, soccer, volleyball and netball. Prizes and rewards will be given to the champions at the Saturday night dinner and dance. There will be cultural dances throughout Friday and Saturday's activities. Also, there will be booths that will sell products from the islands, along with Island food. This important event is not just for Fiji alone this year. It will be opening up its doors to all people from the Pacific Ocean, both North and South Pacific. The Fijian Association of Portland/Vancouver hopes to have a great turnout and they want to promote the Island people and culture to Oregon and the United States. The Fijian Association which is a Domestic Non-profit Organization with public members and a 501 (c) (3) status is also looking for donations from anyone that would like to assist and support this very worthwhile cause.
